Students Design Book Covers

Every week, our Week in Rap Shout Out Contest gives students an opportunity to win a shout out for their school in the next Week in Rap. Last week, we asked you to to design your own book cover for a book of your choosing. If your favorite book were to be judged by its cover, how would you want the cover to look?

Our winner this week is Kennett Middle School in Landenberg, PA. Ms. Hahn’s eighth graders submitted several incredible book covers with beautiful cover art.

Celia created a cover for The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Pathompon drew this eerie cover art for The Host by Stephenie Meyer.

The cover Natalia drew for Coraline by Neil Gaiman is simple but striking.

Congratulations, Kennett Middle School, and thank you for sharing all of your submissions with us!

We also wanted to share this entry from Ames Middle School in Ames, IA. Kirsti created a cover for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling.

Finally, Basel of Twin Lakes Academy Middle School in Jacksonville, FL, made this cover for The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Thank you to everyone who submitted book covers this week! Don’t forget to enter this Friday’s Week In Rap Shout-Out Contest for a chance to win a shout out next Friday.
