Students’ Class Self-Portraits

Every week, our Week in Rap Shout Out Contest gives students an opportunity to win a shout out for their school in the next Week in Rap. Last week, we asked you to show us who you are by creating an artistic representation of your class in a medium of your choice.

Our winner this week is Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy in the Bronx, NY. Ms. Roberts’s seventh grade class chose animals that represented them, drew a jungle for them to live in, then put it all together in this collage.

We also loved this entry from South High school in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Hanson’s class took selfies on their iPads, then took a class photo “to represent their ‘true’ selves.”

In this entry from Health Careers High School, in San Antonio, TX, student Christine turned the school name itself into art. Very creative!

The final entry we wanted to share with you is from Elysian School in Billings, MT. This drawing imagines all of Mrs. Ingraham’s seventh grade class as birds, right down to the specific species everyone would be.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their drawings, collages, pictures, and even videos! Don’t forget to enter this Friday’s Week In Rap Shout-Out Contest for a chance to win a shout out next Friday.
